About Taco Rain: Catch the Tacos
Taco Rain is a catcher. Tacos fall, you slide a basket along the bottom of the screen to fill it, and the bombs mixed in among them are the thing to get out of the way of. A round runs sixty seconds, or ends early if three get past you. Learning it takes about five seconds, which is the point: it is built for the gap between two other things rather than for an evening.
It is also the first thing we have released that pays nothing, and that is worth saying plainly on a site where everything else does. There are no coins in Taco Rain, no balance, no redeem screen and no PayPal cash-out. There is nothing to buy either — no in-app purchases, no currency, no shop, and no rewarded video to sit through for a bonus. It is free, and it is funded by a single banner that sits outside gameplay; there is never an ad over the playfield while a round is running.
The scoring runs on a multiplier. A taco is 10 points and a burrito is 50 and rare, and every five catches in a row steps the multiplier up, to a maximum of five. Five levels — Taco Truck, Fiesta, Salsa Storm, Hot Sauce Volcano and Taco Tornado — each fall faster and busier than the last and each has its own sky, and beating a level's target score unlocks the next one. Endless mode drops both the clock and the target and simply keeps climbing until three get past you.
The five power-ups fall like everything else, so they are earned by playing rather than bought. A magnet curves tacos toward the basket, slow-mo halves the fall speed, a wide plate makes the basket bigger, a speed boost makes it quicker, and a shield absorbs the next miss. Ten badges track the milestones, from a first catch to a flawless round to two minutes survived in Endless. Scores and badges are kept on the device, and there is no account to create.

Does Taco Rain pay me anything?
No, and that's the one thing to know before you download it. Taco Rain has no coins, no balance and no cash-out — it's a game rather than a reward app, so none of the payout arithmetic on the rest of this site applies to it. If the paying ones are what you came for, they're all on our apps page.
Is it free? What is the catch?
It's free, and there are no in-app purchases at all — no currency, no shop, no unlocks for sale. There's no rewarded video either, which means nothing in the game is gated behind watching an ad. It's supported by one banner that sits outside gameplay, and you'll never get an ad over the playfield in the middle of a round.
What do I need to run it?
An iPhone or iPad on iOS 15.0 or later. It's 73.5 MB, rated 4+, and plays the same on either one. There's no Android version yet.
Is it suitable for children?
The App Store rates it 4+, and since there are no in-app purchases there's nothing a child can spend money on. What you should know is that it does carry a banner ad outside gameplay, which is how it stays free.
How long is a round?
Sixty seconds, or until three fall past you, whichever comes first. Endless mode has no clock at all — it runs until you drop three. You can pause at any point, so a notification won't cost you the round.
Do my scores follow me to a new phone?
No. Scores and badges stay on the device, the same way the coin balances in our reward apps do. There's no account to sign into, so there's nothing to sync — and nothing to lose track of either.
