What is on the sheet
Page one is counting. Ten boxes hold from one to ten tacos, mixed up, with a square in each box for the number. The tacos are outlines, so they can be colored in after.
Page two starts with six addition problems drawn as tacos, like three tacos plus two tacos, all adding to ten or less. Under them is Score the basket. In our game Taco Rain a taco is worth 10 points and a burrito is worth 50, so a basket of four tacos and a burrito is 90. Kids count by tens to get it.
The answers are printed upside down along the bottom of each page.
Ways to use it
For a younger child, do page one with real things to count first. Line up crackers or blocks on top of each box, then write the number. Page two works as a Taco Tuesday warm-up, or as the paper half of a lesson on counting by tens: once a child sees that four tacos make 40, the burrito's 50 is one more jump.
The PDF is two pages at US Letter size. Print both, or only the one that fits.
