Where we stand. We make Dead Center, a card centering checker that is free with one banner ad on Google Play and not yet on the App Store, and Card Lab, a trading card maker. Neither one tracks what a collection is worth, so neither competes with Collectr directly; collectors use both kinds of app. We are not connected to Collectr and take no referral fee from anyone on this page.

Yes. Collectr's free plan tracks the value of a collection across 25+ card games, with unlimited portfolios, search and the social features. PRO costs $7.99 a month or $59.99 a year and adds unlimited scanning, five years of price history, filters and export. Export is the one to know about before you add a thousand cards: it is PRO only.

Where the price is

Every surface read for a Collectr price on 31 October 2026
Surface What it shows
getcollectr.com/pro Monthly $7.99; annual $4.99 a month “billed annually at $59.99/yr”, “SAVE 38%”, “Reduced price for a limited time”
App Store, Information row Collectr PRO Monthly $7.99, Collectr PRO Annual $59.99
App Store, promoted purchase None
App Store, description Lists unlimited scanning, filters, exports and custom backgrounds as needing a purchase. No figure
Google Play “In-app purchases” badge only; no items-and-offers section
Help center No figure, no trial, no scan limit

The two figures agree everywhere they appear. Twelve monthly payments come to $95.88, so the yearly plan saves 37%, a little under the 38% the pricing card prints (derived from Collectr's prices).

The scan limit nobody prints

Scanning is how most people fill a collection app, and it is the free plan's tightest limit. The pricing card marks unlimited scanning as PRO, and the App Store description lists it under features that require an in-app purchase. None of Collectr's surfaces says how many free scans there are, or whether the count resets. A Google Play review from 19 September 2026 says the free tier allowed 35 scans and calls that too few to catalog a collection. That is one reviewer's count, not a published figure. Searching by name has no stated limit.

Getting your collection back out

Collectr's help center says PRO members can export a collection from the Portfolio screen, and the pricing card marks export as not included in Free. So a free user who builds a large collection has no file of it. If that user later moves to another app, the choices are to pay for PRO long enough to export, or to enter every card again.

Import is narrower still. The help center lists TCGplayer as the only supported source: you email a TCGplayer CSV and wait roughly two to three business days.

The privacy price

Apple's App Privacy panel for Collectr has no “used to track you” section. It links location and contact info (name and email) to your identity, and lists usage data, user content and diagnostics as not linked. Google Play's data safety summary says no data is shared with third parties, and that the app collects location, photos and videos and two other types.

Other card apps, and how they price

Card collecting and scanning apps on the US App Store and what Apple lists for each, 31 October 2026
App What Apple lists Ratings
Collectr PRO $7.99 a month, $59.99 a year 69,043
PSA: Card Tracking & Grading No in-app purchases 62,024
PriceCharting: TCG, Games+ Collector $5.99 a month, $59.99 a year 27,554
TCGplayer No in-app purchases 17,955
TCG Card Scanner - FoilSnap Ten items named Pro or Premium, $3.99 to $39.99, no periods 14,917
Rare Candy: TCG Card Scanner No in-app purchases 10,754

TCGplayer and Rare Candy are marketplaces, and PSA is a grading company, so their apps earn from sales and services rather than a subscription. PriceCharting's yearly plan costs the same as Collectr's, with a cheaper month. Centering checkers, a narrower job, are compared in apps like Card Grader Pro.

What Collectr does better

  • It values a whole collection. Collectr prices raw, graded and sealed products across more than twenty games and charts the total over time. Dead Center measures one thing about one card, its centering.
  • It is on both stores. Dead Center is on Google Play only for now; on an iPhone the browser calculator is the only way to use it.
  • It is far bigger and busier: 69,043 App Store ratings at 4.9, over a million Google Play downloads, and an App Store update on 18 October 2026 that added price alerts.

Frequently asked questions

Is Collectr free to use?

Yes. The free plan covers 25+ card games, unlimited portfolios, showcases, the marketplace and social features, and search. Saved search history, in-depth price history, unlimited scanning, filters and export are PRO.

How much is Collectr PRO?

$7.99 a month or $59.99 a year in the US, the same on Collectr's site and Apple's list. The site shows the yearly plan as $4.99 a month and calls it a reduced price for a limited time.

What is the Collectr scan limit?

Collectr doesn't publish one. The free plan has a cap and PRO makes scanning unlimited, but the site, the help center and both store listings give no number. One Google Play review from September 2026 says the cap was 35 scans.

Can I export my Collectr collection for free?

No. The help center says PRO members can export their collection at any time, and the pricing card marks export as not included in Free. There's no free way to get a file of your collection out.

Can I import my collection into Collectr?

Only from TCGplayer. You email a TCGplayer CSV to Collectr's import address from the email you signed up with, and the help center says it takes roughly 2 to 3 business days.

Does Collectr PRO have a free trial?

None that we could find. The PRO page, the help center and both store listings print no trial. The app's own subscription screen may offer one, but we didn't open it.

Is Collectr PRO worth it?

It depends on whether you need to scan a big pile or export. If you add cards by search and never leave the app, the free plan does the tracking. Scanning a large collection or keeping your own copy of it needs PRO.

Does Collectr have ads?

Neither store listing says it has ads. Apple's privacy panel has no "used to track you" section, and Google Play says it shares no data with third parties.

Is Collectr on Android?

Yes. It's on Google Play with over a million downloads and a 4.8 rating from 44.6K reviews, and on the App Store with 69,043 ratings at 4.9.

Measure a card's centering in your browser

Dead Center checks a card's centering from a photo. Google Play has it free with one banner ad, and the browser calculator measures a photo on any phone or computer.
