What is on the sheet
The top half is the crosstable: eight numbered rows for the players' names, a column for each opponent, and columns for the total score and the final place. The square where a player would meet themselves is crossed out.
The bottom half is the pairings for seven rounds, four games a round. These are the Berger tables, the standard order for a round robin of this size, and the first number in each pair plays white. The colors come out close to even, so each player gets white three or four times.
How to run it
Draw lots for the numbers 1 to 8 and write each name in its row. Each round, play the four games in that round's box.
When a game ends, write 1 for the winner, ½ each for a draw, and 0 for the loser. The winner's 1 goes in the winner's row, under the loser's number, and the loser's 0 goes in the loser's row, under the winner's number. Add each row across at the end for the score.
With seven players, leave row 8 empty. Whoever is paired with No. 8 has the bye that round.

Chess Clock on your phone
Chess Clock & Scorepad times each game and keeps its record. Its history counts up a head-to-head score for any two named players, so two regulars can keep their own running match between club nights. It's free on Google Play.
