Where we stand. We make Taco Rain, a catching game for kids on the App Store and Google Play, free with one banner ad and nothing to buy. Sago Mini World is a play world for ages 2 to 6, and Taco Rain is one arcade game, so they compete only for screen time. We take no referral fee from Sago Mini, Piknik, Apple or Google.

Partly. Sago Mini World is free to download, and free members get a collection of fan-favorite games with no subscription. Everything else needs a paid plan: Sago Mini World's own monthly or annual plan, or the Piknik Unlimited bundle, which adds nine more kids' apps for $14.99 a month after a 30-day trial.

What Apple lists

Sago Mini World's In-App Purchases row on the US App Store, 31 October 2026, grouped by name
Item name Prices listed
Sago Mini World Plan (six items) $7.99, $7.99, $29.99, $29.99, $35.99, $59.99
Piknik Unlimited Plan (three items) $9.99, $14.99, $79.99
Holiday Sale – Annual Plan $29.99

Apple's names carry no billing period, and no Sago or Piknik page we read prints the World plan's price, so which item is monthly and which annual is not something we can say. Piknik's own site gives one price: $14.99 a month for the bundle, which matches one Apple item. Apple shows at most ten items, and there is no promoted purchase above the App Privacy panel. Google Play shows “Contains ads” and “In-app purchases” badges, with no items-and-offers section.

Switching can leave you paying twice

The help center is direct about this. Subscribing to Piknik Unlimited does not cancel a Sago Mini World plan you already have, or any other app's plan; they stay active and keep billing. It recommends canceling the old ones yourself to avoid duplicate charges. A family that upgrades inside the app should check its App Store or Google Play subscriptions the same day.

Sharing it across a family

One Piknik account works on up to 10 devices at a time, iPhone, iPad and Android alike; log out of an old one to add a new one. On Apple, the store description warns that Family Sharing can't pass the subscription to a different Apple ID, so a second parent's iPad needs the Piknik sign-in rather than Family Sharing. Downloaded games play offline.

Games come and go

The help center lists fourteen games removed from World, among them Village, Monsters, Dress Up, Bug Builder, Pet Cafe and Superhero, with Pizza Shop added in the same update. A subscription buys whatever World holds now, not a fixed set; a child's favorite can leave.

The privacy price

Apple's App Privacy panel has no “used to track you” section. It links purchase history, email address and a user ID to your identity, and lists the developer's own advertising or marketing among the uses. Google Play's data safety summary says personal info and device or other IDs may be shared with third parties. The description says the app is COPPA and kidSAFE certified, with no ads or in-app purchases for subscribers.

What Sago Mini World does better

  • It is open-ended pretend play for the youngest: caring for babies, baking, dinosaurs, a city to wander, with no score. Taco Rain is a sixty-second score chase.
  • Subscribers see no ads. Taco Rain shows one banner outside gameplay.
  • The Piknik plan opens nine more apps, from first words to reading and math, for every child in the house.

Frequently asked questions

Is Sago Mini World free?

Partly. It's free to download, and the help center says free members get a collection of fan favorites with no subscription. The rest of the games need a Sago Mini World plan or a Piknik Unlimited plan.

How much is a Sago Mini World subscription?

Neither Sago nor Piknik prints the World plan's price outside the app. Apple's US list shows Sago Mini World Plan items at $7.99, $29.99, $35.99 and $59.99, with no billing period on the names. The help center says there are monthly and annual plans.

Is there a Sago Mini World free trial?

Yes. The store description says you can start a free trial when you download, without giving its length. Piknik's site offers 30 days free on the Piknik plan, then $14.99 a month.

What is Piknik?

The bundle Sago Mini World belongs to: ten kids' apps from Sago Mini, Toca Boca and Originator in one subscription, $14.99 a month after a 30-day trial on Piknik's site. One subscription covers every child in the household.

Can I play Sago Mini World without a subscription?

Yes, the free games. Locked games show until you subscribe, and the help center says subscribers who see locked games need to sign in to their Piknik account in the Parents area.

Does Piknik cancel my Sago Mini World subscription?

No. The help center says subscribing to Piknik Unlimited leaves your other subscriptions active, and recommends canceling them yourself to avoid duplicate charges.

How many devices can use one Sago Mini World subscription?

Up to 10 at a time on one Piknik account, across iPhone, iPad and Android. On Apple, the description says Family Sharing can't share it across different Apple IDs, so sign in with the Piknik account instead.
