A printable fruit counting worksheet with ten boxes of line-drawn apples, oranges, lemons, cherries, raspberries and watermelons to count from one to ten
Two pages, US Letter. Download the PDF. It's free, with no sign-up.

What is on the sheet

Page one is counting. Ten boxes hold from one to ten pieces of fruit, mixed up, with a square in each box for the number. The fruit is apples, oranges, lemons, cherries, raspberries and watermelons, all outlines, so it can be colored in after.

Page two starts with five addition problems drawn as fruit, all adding to ten or less. Under them is Snack time: a row of fruit with some crossed out because somebody ate them, and a take-away problem to match, like 8 − 5. Kids count the fruit still left.

The answers are printed upside down along the bottom of each page.

Ways to use it

Name the fruit while counting: three apples is a different sentence from three things. For a younger child, set real grapes or crackers on the pictures and eat the crossed-out ones on page two. That's take-away a four-year-old remembers.

The PDF is two pages at US Letter size. Print both, or only the one that fits.

Frequently asked questions

What age is this fruit math worksheet for?

Page one, counting one to ten, suits preschool and kindergarten. Page two adds to ten and then takes away, which is kindergarten and first grade. Print only the page that fits.

How do kids do the take-away problems?

The eaten fruit are already crossed out, so a child counts the ones left. Once that's easy, cover the X's and have them cross out their own.

Is there an answer key?

Yes. The answers are printed upside down at the bottom of each page.

Can I copy it for my class?

Yes. Print as many as you like for a classroom, a healthy-eating week or a homeschool group. It's free, with no sign-up.
