Construction Master 5 Calc

The same publisher’s other model, with 13,382 ratings at 4.8. Its plan is $3.99 a month or $34.99 a year. The two apps list different functions, so compare them key by key before choosing on price.

A paid app with no ads, $7.99 on the App Store and $7.49 on Google Play, plus a free Lite version with ads. It has 50 memory registers, miters, stairs and concrete, and works offline. Snappy lists several near-identical apps, so check the name and price before you buy.

Construction Calculator, by xNeat

A tidy fraction keypad in 31 languages, with 672 ratings at 4.7, updated 24 October 2026. Stairs, rafters and arcs are add-ons or part of a subscription. Apple’s panel reads Data Not Collected.

Tape Calc, by witty apps

An Android app with 100+ downloads, no ads, no subscription and a Data safety section that says no data collected. Adding fractions is free. Area, volume and conversions are a one-time Pro purchase.

Handyman Calc, ours

Free with ads and nothing to buy, on both stores. It keeps every length as an exact fraction and rounds once, to 1/16″ unless you choose otherwise, with material calculators from concrete to stairs. It has no hip, valley or jack rafters and no trig keys.

What these do better than ours

Construction Master Pro is the deeper calculator by a distance, with the key layout people learned on the hardware. Winograd’s covers trades ours ignores. Tape Calc collects nothing and shows no ads. Snappy’s paid app and Winograd’s lifetime upgrade remove ads for a one-time price, and ours offers no way to pay them off. If you frame roofs every day, pay for Construction Master.
