This policy covers one app: Wordasaurus, a sight-words game for children of about five to seven, for iPhone and iPad. Our other apps and this website are covered by the general Illumination Development privacy policy, which does not apply here — it describes advertising and services this app does not have.
The short version
Wordasaurus collects nothing about your child. There is no account, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party SDK of any kind. The record of which words your child has practised is kept on the device and never sent anywhere. The only thing that can ever leave the device is a message a grown-up chooses to send us from the support form, behind the parental gate.
What the app does not do
- No account, sign-in, profile, or identifier of any kind — not even an anonymous one.
- No analytics, usage measurement, or event logging.
- No crash or diagnostic reporting.
- No advertising, no advertising identifier, and no App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- No in-app purchases.
- No links to other apps or websites that a child can reach. The only link out of the app is this privacy policy, in the grown-ups area behind a parental gate.
- No camera, microphone, photo library, location, or contacts access.
What stays on the device
To choose which words to practise next and to hatch the dinosaurs, the app keeps, on the device only: which words your child has answered and how often they got them right, which chapters of the story they have heard, and the sound, vibration and word-list settings. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else.
Delete My Data, in Settings behind the parental gate, erases the practice record and the story progress. Deleting the app removes everything.
The support form
Behind the parental gate, Settings has a Contact support form. If a grown-up fills it in and taps Send, we receive the name, email address and message typed into it, along with the app's version and the device's operating system version so we can reproduce a problem. It is sent to our own contact service and reaches our support inbox. We use it only to reply, we do not add it to any list, and we do not share or sell it. Ask us to delete it and we will.
Children
Wordasaurus is made for children and is built to collect no personal information from them. The game itself asks a child for nothing and sends nothing. The support form is meant for parents and sits behind a parental gate; if you believe a child has sent us a message, write to us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Under COPPA, the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA and CPRA, and comparable laws elsewhere, you have rights to access, correct, and delete personal information a company holds. For this app the only thing we could hold is a support message you sent; to have it deleted, write to privacy@illuminationdevelopment.com. We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.
A note about this web page
The app does not display this page — tapping Privacy Policy in the grown-ups area opens it in your browser, and this website, unlike the app, uses Google Analytics. That is described in the general policy and applies to your visit to this page, not to the app.
Changes to this policy
If this ever stops being true, this page changes before the version that changes it reaches the App Store, and the App Store privacy label changes with it. Revisions are posted here with an updated date.
